This week, members of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee announced that, since the enactment of the economic stimulus package in February, less than two percent of the total funding allocated for "shovel ready" construction projects has been spent.  In California, where unemployment is at nearly 12 percent, only 2.92 percent of the total $2.45 billion in obligated funds have been utilized to create jobs through roadway and infrastructure projects.   Click here for a chart detailing these figures .
