Each year, Congress holds the Congressional Art Competition for high school students nationwide. For high school students of the 50th Congressional District, the competition showcases the creativity and artistic talent of our students to the rest of the country. Winners from each Congressional District are selected through a competitive and deliberative process and, with this year’s competition around the corner, I’m honored to ask students once again to submit their artwork.
The winning entry will be displayed for one year in the United States Capitol and the artist and his or her family will also be invited to a reception at the U.S. Capitol, along with the winners from other Congressional Districts from around the country. The winner will also receive two airline tickets to Washington, D.C., at no cost.
To submit your artwork, download and review this year's Student Guidelines. The Student Release Form must also be downloaded and submitted with your original art submission. Please ensure all necessary signatures, including a teacher from your school, are on the form prior to submission. Competition guidelines dictate that any artwork submitted without the required signatures will not be allowed to be included in the judging process.
Teachers are requested to submit their students’ artwork no later than FRIDAY, April 19, 2019.
